1 Johnson was featured in the first and second seasons of the HBO series Game of Thrones. The English rocker has been given the all-clear after undergoing radical surgery to remove a three kilogram tumour. He is said to be one of the founding influences of the English punk movement. One of those songs, that’s a reflection of that time, about sitting around the house at night knowing that death’s coming we’ve recorded it, and it’ll be on the album. “I didn’t really intend to ever use them and, obviously, I didn’t know if I’d ever get back into the studio. Still, I come back to the view there are better versions of nearly all these tunes elsewhere: whether on the original Feelgood/Wilko albums especially on live albums or even on the 2014 collaboration with Roger Daltrey which at least cast some fresh light on the tracks they chose to revisit. The introspection of some of the tracks on the album is more than balanced out by the good time upbeat party feel of the title track, ‘Beauty’ and ‘I Love The Way You Do’ that have the urgency of the artist’s earliest work with Dr Feelgood. Feelgood's lead guitarist, and a long solo act playing rootsy R&B and rock. Anyone expecting that Wilko Johnson’s particular brand of R&B to be softened by such heartfelt lyrics is in for a surprise, if anything his guitar style of “the chop” as he calls it, is even more aggressive.
